About the Authors
Samuel Francis is a nationally syndicated columnist and author, the Political Editor of Chronicles magazine, for which he writes a monthly column, and Editor in Chief of the Citizens Informer. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has worked at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., and on the staff of the U.S. Senate. He served as editorial writer and deputy editorial page editor of The Washington Times from 1987 to 1991 and a staff columnist from 1991 to 1995. In 1989 and 1990 he won the Distinguished Writing Award from the American Society of Newspaper Editors. Dr. Francis is the author of The Soviet Strategy of Terror, Heritage Foundation, 1981; Power and History: The Political Thought of James Burnham, University Press of America, 1983; Beautiful Losers: Essays on the Failure of American Conservatism, University of Missouri Press, 1993; Revolution from the Middle, Middle American Press, 1996; James Burnham, Claridge Press London, 1999; and Ethnopolitics: Immigration, Race, and the American Political Future, Representative Government Press, Raleigh, 2003. Kevin MacDonald is Professor of Psychology at California State University—Long Beach. His research has focused on developing evolutionary perspectives in developmental psychology, the origins and maintenance of monogamous marriage in Western Europe, and ethnic relations (human group evolutionary strategies). He is the author of A People That Shall Dwell Alone: Judaism As a Group Evolutionary Strategy (1994), Separation and Its Discontents: Toward an Evolutionary Theory of Anti-Semitism (1998), and The Culture of Critique: An Evolutionary Analysis of Jewish Involvement in Twentieth-Century Intellectual and Political Movements (1998), all published by Praeger. More recently (2004) he is co-editor of the second edition of Evolutionary Perspectives on Human Development, published by Sage.
